Park was awarded the purple heart, meaning he paid the ultimate price, his life, in the line of duty.

John Henry Park was most importantly a loving husband, son, and brother. He was of the bravest of men that landed on the beaches of Normandy. Park fought with all his might and sealed his loyalty with his blood as he fell in battle on July 12, 1944. Park was a part of the 331st Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division. Because of the brave men like Park, our generation can enjoy the freedom we love so much.
